PAID CONSULTING & REFERRAL SUPPORT

Seawall consulting & direct introductions

Our planned paid service combines application-paperwork consulting, direct contractor introductions coordinated by us, and help selecting and hiring a seawall company. Scope and fees would be agreed before engagement.

Plan a callPublished · Updated October 25, 2026

Four reasons to plan now

  • Recurring tidal water in the yard or shoreline deterioration deserves assessment. Saltwater can damage grass, and storms add flood exposure. A seawall is only one part of flood-risk planning.
  • City assistance of up to $20,000 is limited reimbursement funding for eligible completed seawall projects. Apply by November 30, 2026, or earlier at capacity; an award is not guaranteed.
  • Do not budget on insurance paying for the wall. Standard NFIP generally excludes standalone seawalls; ask your licensed agent about the exact policy and property-specific underwriting.
  • New and substantially improved walls face the 5.7 ft NAVD88 rule, with narrower existing-wall provisions and exceptions. Actual City notices set response obligations. There is no universal November 30 retrofit deadline.

Application paperwork support

Organize program requirements, identify missing records, prepare application paperwork with owner authorization, and coordinate the next steps. Required owner signatures and certifications, identity verification, and acceptance of government terms must follow the City’s process.

Direct introductions & hiring support

Direct introductions, comparable proposals and hiring decisions belong in one plan. Any contractor relationship and compensation would be disclosed before engagement.

A scope and fee agreed first

Consulting is paid, with scope and fees agreed before engagement. Engineering, surveying, construction, and legal services remain with the appropriate independent professionals.

Prepare for the conversation

  • Keep the property’s notices, prior permits, surveys, and reports together.
  • Note your goals, timeline, and questions about grant eligibility or contractor scope.
  • Use the self-check to organize what you already know.
  • Keep identity, insurance, income, and other sensitive records out of this website.
