Understand the funding structure
The City announces seawall assistance of up to $20,000, subject to eligibility, funding, and approved costs. The general PPA page describes a $2,500 assessment value and up to $17,500 in matching design and construction reimbursement. Ask the City to confirm how the expedited seawall allocation applies to your project; do not assume the full amount is construction cash.
Check the application window
Apply before midnight Eastern at the end of November 30, 2026, or sooner if program capacity is reached. Reviewed in the order received. Funding is limited and not guaranteed. Other PPA project types remain closed until early Spring 2027.
Prepare with the right support
- Review ownership, location, good standing, and flood mitigation eligibility with the City.
- Gather the Elevation Certificate and proof of active flood insurance for the official application.
- Confirm the required ownership authorization for a condominium or other entity.
- Application assistance requires owner authorization and any City-required signatures or certifications. Sensitive documents are not accepted on this site; a secure document process must be agreed before sharing them.
Ask before committing funds
Confirm qualifying scope, approvals before work, and reimbursement timing. The City’s seawall announcement excludes docks, decking, dock foundation piles, and pile wraps. Qualifying low-to-moderate income applicants may be exempt from a match; this does not establish advance payment. Our consulting fee would be agreed separately, with no guarantee of funding.
